Unit Overview
Seeking a board-certified Palliative Care Physician to join the Division of Palliative Medicine, replacing a departing attending. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a nationally recognized cancer center and Level One Academic Trauma Center providing comprehensive care to individuals with serious, complex or life limiting illness. Our specialty trained interdisciplinary team works with patients to manage symptoms and address psychosocial, emotional and/or spiritual distress to improve quality of life for the patient and family. We work to ensure that care aligns with patients’ goals, values and priorities in the face of serious illness.
Short Description
Inpatient and ambulatory consultation for complex medical decision making for goals of care and symptom management in serious illness.
Foster team collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to care throughout health system, including work on advance care planning improvement.
Perform timely documentation in the EMR and participation in didactic education for GME trainees including HPM fellow, and other housestaff/fellows.
Participate in or lead quality improvement projects, develop educational interventions, and collaborate with the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residency programs.
Encouraged to take on administrative or educational leadership responsibilities within the Division and demonstrate a record of scholarly activity, as documented through invited lectures, curriculum development, or publications.
The qualified candidate will possess broad clinical knowledge, experience in palliative care, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a passion for interdisciplinary team collaboration in expanding palliative care activities throughout the institution.

A doctorate degree is required
Experience Required
3 - 5 years required
6 -10 years preferred
License/ Certification Requirements
MD/DO required
Board certification Hospice and palliative medicine required
NJ medical license and DEA required
Special Requirements
Communication - Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers is required
