This position is located within the Diagnostic Imaging Service, Ultrasound Section, at the Loma Linda VAMC. Medical Instrument Technicians (MIT) at this grade level serve as staff MIT's and are to be qualified to provide services in specialized areas of sonography. The MIT operates independently and without direct supervision as the technologist is responsible for the performance, accuracy, and coordination of all ultrasound examinations, both general and vascular. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
