This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. This includes providing management of Veterans with acute and/or chronic suicidal and/or homicidality; conduct risk assessment and develop safety plan Manages ongoing treatment of follow-up patients in both outpatient and inpatient with different level of psychological functioning and levels of severity and acuity related to their psychiatric condition, consulting with other psychiatric and medical consulting providers as appropriate, based upon the Nurse Practitioner's experience and delegation of duties. - Coordinates care for psychiatric patients, ordering diagnostic tests and consults, performing patient education regarding the ongoing care of the Veteran's mental health needs, prescribing medications as appropriate. - Analyzes and interprets data, formulates problem lists, and establishes plans for solution of clinical problems - Places orders for diagnostic tests and evaluates the test results or reports. - Coordinates clinic and providers schedules to maximize clinic efficiency and Veteran access to care. - Participates in the evaluation, treatment and management of walk-in/access in clinic or ER or add-on outpatients or newly admitted inpatients when this is needed and manages their care as appropriate - Coordinates patient care with other members of health care team.
