The Bruce W Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (MDS Coordinator) to work in the Nursing Service Long Term Care area to provide care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury. Other duties include but are not limited to: Determines assessment and reassessment schedules for all residents and patients in Geriatrics and Extended Care to include the initial 7-day assessments Coordinates assessment due dates and communicates vital information to the Care Planning Teams on each Unit Provides timely standardized, interdisciplinary documentation Educates staff and monitoring compliance with completion of each section of the MDS for accuracy and ensures appropriate follow-up Ensures critical components of the RAI/MDS process are in compliance with regulatory statutes (LTC Federal Regulations, Tags and Interpretative Guidelines) Tracking of quality indicators such as dehydration, malnutrition, sepsis, falls, abuse and neglect. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday- 7:30am - 4:00pm; flexibility in the schedule is required to ensure adequate coverage for the service.
