Kaiser Permanente-Washington Permanente Medical Group is seeking a Full Time 1.0 FTE Staff Accountant to join our WPMG HQ team in Renton, Washington.
Staff Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsible for month end close entries and reporting, including but not limited to: general ledger journal entries, budget transfers, clinic and corporate expense reporting, account reconciliations, wires, and creation of financial statements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
*Must meet WPMG compliance and code of conduct standards. *Financial Statements: Participate in preparation of monthly GAAP financial statements and monthly reports. *General Ledger: Prepare and record routine journal entries and month-end accruals. Assist with maintaining all ledger accounts. *Investment Accounting: Ensure proper valuation and recording of investments. *Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations in a timely manner. Resolve reconciling items and variances each month. *Finance Systems: Assist in the maintenance and make recommendations for improvement. Assist in initiating IT service tickets for the finance department. *Audit Support: Assist as necessary with external and internal audits. Prepare supporting documentation and answer auditor's questions. Coordinate with other departments in addressing auditor requests in a timely manner. *Business Taxes: Assist in preparation and filing of monthly state and quarterly B&O tax returns. *Other duties: as assigned

Preferred Knowledge: * Intermediate knowledge of Finance and Accounting systems
