Cancer Care Clinic is an 18 chair clinic providing chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products and electrolytes for cancer patients. THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY NTE ONE YEAR FROM DAY OF HIRE. The Registered Nurse sees patients for follow up after treatment to include drawing labs, type and cross for blood products, IV fluids and electrolytes. Duties include but are not limited to: Assess patients pre- during and post -Chemotherapy, Biotherapy and Immunotherapy Review pathology and lab results and their implications In-depth knowledge of the expected side effects of cancer treatments Educate patients about their disease, its treatments and expected side effects. Organize relevant referrals for patients to other healthcare providers such as dieticians, social workers or speech and language pathologists Evaluate each patient and initiate appropriate care and work with the provider's (ARNP, PA-C). Administer research and clinical trial drugs, working directly with the provider, pharmacy and research coordinators Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing direct patient care: assess, plan, implement and evaluate care based on age-specific components Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 0730-1600 Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: Not Authorized EDRP/PCS: Not Approved Benefits Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases.
