The Pharmacy Technician will be accountable for dispensing and packaging patient orders in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety. Provide initial medication order verification and ensure complete accuracy while dispensing and packaging medications in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations. Operate and maintain dispensing equipment in accordance with all process and procedures.

Key responsibilities include the following:
Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy.
Greets patients over the telephone, verifies member's eligibility status, and receives prescriptions from members for pharmaceuticals.
Enters prescription information into computer system and prints labels for use by pharmacist.
Receives payment according to terms of patient’s plan.
Answers routine inquiries from patients regarding health plan drug coverage, prices, and related issues.
Identifies situations when patient should speak with pharmacist regarding use of drugs and appropriately triages to the Pharmacist.
Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contact insurance companies and/or PBMs to resolve claims issues.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the correct medications are dispensed and packaged accurately matching patient orders.
Run automated machinery required to pre-sort, package and restock medications.
Transition orders through multiple workflow stages from initial dispensing through final quality control
Orders and stocks drugs and supplies, assembles drugs and supplies for clinical departments, stocks crash carts, and performs other inventory duties.
Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Active pharmacy technician license
Excellent customer service skills
Experience with retail or LTC pharmacy data entry strongly preferred
Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning patient care
Demonstrated proficiency in Pharmacy distributive services
Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution processes preferred
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
Strong attention to detail
Bilingual Spanish fluency preferred
