The Research Assistant will be working on the National Institute on Aging study: Music & MEmory: A Pragmatic TRial for Nursing Home Residents with ALzheimerâ™s Disease (METRIcAL). METRIcAL is a pragmatic, cluster-randomized controlled trial of the effects of a personalized music program for nursing home residents with advanced dementia on agitated and aggressive behaviors. Duties include interacting with internal and external study partners (nursing homes, corporate leadership, contractors) by email and phone, calling nursing homes to collect information on study participants, tracking status of ongoing study activities and provide support for field staff through active monitoring of help line. This position also performs literature searches, Endnote and bibliography updates and prepares study documents for reports and manuscripts.
Associates degree with 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Health Services/Social Science research experience
Proficient Computer skills (word processing, data management, Excel, Power Point, reference manager)
Professional telephone skills
Self-reliant, organized, flexible and able to prioritize multiple research activities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Able to communicate thoughts clearly in writing / email
Posses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment
This fixed-term full-time position is funded through May 31, 2022 and may be extended based on the continued availability of grant funding.
