The Blood Collection Department at Christiana Hospital is currently recruiting for a Phlebotomy Technician for a casual day shift position. On days scheduled to work, hours will be 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Every fourth weekend and one holiday per year required. This is not a benefit eligible position. Required training for this position will be Monday through Friday, day shift, for two to four weeks.
Inpatient Hospital Experience or Nursing Home as a Phlebotomy Tech are encouraged to apply.
As a Phlebotomy Technician responsibilities include: -To perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks on inpatients and outpatients to obtain blood for testing. -Follows established procedures for proper identification of patients, greeting all patients in a courteous manner introducing self and calling patient by name. -Responds to all pages, answering promptly, giving status of present situation and location and approximate time until arrival at unit.
Requirements: -A High school graduate or equivalent is required. -Inpatient Phlebotomy experience is preferred -CPR Certified preferred -Completed Phlebotomy Training Program preferred.
