Responsible for the successful, ongoing overall operation of a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Performs a variety of duties which to support the community operations with an emphasis on customer service; coordinates work within departments, reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information. Ensures compliance with all Department of Human Services, Department of Health, CMS and other legal and regulatory requirements. Provides exceptional customer service in support of Presby’s Inspired Life’s Service from the Heart.
Develops an effective management team, an efficient organizational structure and programs and procedures to deliver quality service to all residents.
Promotes organizational mission and goals, and shows the way to achieve them. Links mission, vision, values, goals, and strategies to everyday work.
Plans, operates, and directs the community activities including licensing and survey requirements in accordance with the policies and procedures of Presby’s Inspired Life and in compliance with federal, state, and applicable local statutes, regulations, and/or ordinances.
Oversees the care provided through daily rounds, observation, and interactions with staff and residents.
Studies and acts upon recommendations made by committees within the community as well as those of Presby’s Inspired Life and the governing body.
Oversees continued development and implementation of the community strategic plan.
Develops and implements marketing plans for the community in coordination with the Presby marketing plans.
Develops and recommends changes in administrative policies to carry out the objectives of the community more effectively.
Participates in organization sponsored events and activities to build church and Presbytery relations.
In cooperation with and under the direction of the Community Support Center risk manager, manages the campus management program to identify, assess, and mitigate actual and potential losses and exposures across the campus, levels of care, and service lines. Manages the campus and service-line culture-of-safety program to provide the campus and service-line structure for a high-reliability and learning organization. Supports Presby’s Inspired Life’s mission and values and management’s strategic goals through the implementation and application of risk financing, risk control, systems-thinking and analysis techniques. Acts as primary liaison to the Community Support Center risk manager.

Develops the operating and capital budgets for the community with the assistance of the community and the CSC staff. Ensures adherence to budget.
In cooperation with the appropriate community and CSC staff, seeks and obtains reimbursement for all eligible services provided by the community to residents and others. Assures availability and appropriate use of residents’ current financial information.

Maintains membership in appropriate professional associations (local, state, and national) to assure contact with educational opportunities, current developments, and new trends in senior supports and services.
Continues education in formal and informal ways to remain knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and innovations in the services Presby provides.

Represents Presby’s Inspired Life and the community through participation in LeadingAge, LeadingAge PA, PAHSA and other associations as requested and as time allows.

Chairs and/or participates in committees/task forces as requested and serves as a resource for committees of the Board of Directors.

Maintains an ongoing relationship with the Medical Director, the medical staff, nursing staff, and other professional and supervisory staff through meetings and periodic reports.
Maintains an ongoing relationship with the leadership of the Residents’ Association, and attends other resident committee and floor meetings as needed. Holds regularly scheduled resident meetings to discuss operational issues and community performance.
Holds regular meetings with community management team to discuss operational issues and community performance. Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings for the same purpose.
Communicates concisely and respectfully in written and electronic forms.
Utilizes communications skills to discuss and reach agreement in a professional manner.
Actively participates in the Presby Service from the Heart program, ensuring a clear understanding of customer service standards, accountability and consistency and that their team functions effectively under the key elements of the program when dealing with their respective customers.

Experience:Five years’ experience as an administrator or at least ten years management experience in a long-term care community. Experience in operations, CCRC sales & marketing or public relations is preferred.
Education/Training: A Bachelors degree in health care administration or related field; Current NHA is preferred, but not required. Personal Care Administrator license required.
Skill(s): Experience in strategic and/or long-range planning, budget preparation and the ability to interpret financial statements; Strong organizational skills; supervisory, team building or team development skills; capable of excellent communication both in writing and verbally, and be able to maintain effective working relationships with varied and diverse individuals, including residents, families, staff, churches, and the community.
