Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC) is searching for an Executive Director for it's Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Marycrest in Livonia, MI. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide leadership and direction over the planning and operations of the skilled nursing community that includes operating plans and related operating and capital budgets, development and implementation of standardized policies and procedures, clinical integration, property management, resident relations, marketing, community outreach, etc. In doing so, ensures that the programs and services are delivered in manners consistent with the strategic goals of Trinity Health Senior Communities.

Maintain department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary. Identify financial vulnerabilities and make cost reduction recommendations as needed.

Supports other personnel from other departments through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence. Addresses issues of concern through courageous conversation and notifies department manager of any interactions requiring attention.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, THSC Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
In light of a disaster will know your disaster recovery, crisis management and business continuity plans and act within your role that is developed within the business continuity plan. Which may include working at another location, remotely from home, and maintaining constant contact with key personnel.
Provides oversight responsibility for all levels of leadership and values of Trinity Health into the operations of the THSC CCRC.
Maintains a philanthropic leadership role in cultivating and developing major and planned charitable gifts that support THSC ministries; effectively represents THSC to the local community at large.
Provides oversight direction (in coordination with the Director of Hospitality) with external community-wide events to generate interest and leads for census building; works in conjunction with THSC marketing staff and internal hospitality staff to create strategies to support leads generation and census development for the community.
Assists home office marketing team with market research including competitive research, market surveys and demographic analysis; Participates in the development and implementation of new services/programs including design, packaging, pricing, promotion, etc.
Ensures the community has a solid oversight customer service “point-person” for community residents and families. This includes trouble-shooting leasing arrangement issues, service coordination, and conflict resolution.
In coordination with Director of Hospitality, ensures that the overall appearance of the community is well maintained and in excellent repair; ensures curb appeal is of the highest standards.
Provides oversight direction through community leaders to ensure that all THSC associates are well trained in high-end customer service delivery (internal and external customers) and the essentials for community marketing and achieving the highest occupancy and renewals.
Ensures that all resident services are provided in a manner that supports quality of life and service excellence.
Provides leadership over the development of annual operating plans and related operating and capital budgets.
Provides leadership over operational performance by monitoring the attainment of annual operating goals, plans and financial targets. Works with direct reports to develop corrective strategies when plans are not met. Is responsible for meeting goals, plans and targets.
Provides leadership over the development and implementation of long-term goals and objectives for operations, which support its overall strategic direction.
Provides executive leadership over the development and/or implementation of standardized policies and procedures to guide the operations of the Care Center, Adult Center, and Assisted Living programs. Ensures policies and procedure support the strategic objectives of THSC.
Ensures an effective participative management climate within the operations of THSC, with a special emphasis on the selection and development of committed, culturally diverse leaders in management that includes ongoing mentoring for direct reports.
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of healthcare delivery, management and gerontology as normally obtained through a Bachelors degree in (Masters Preferred) in Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of direct supervisory experience preferably at a progressively higher level. A combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
Must possess a current, unencumbered, Nursing Home Administrator's license from the state in which the facility is located.
Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Possess interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment and productivity when working with cross-functional teams, customers and end users. Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual, collaborative shared leadership environment.
Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site or virtual environment is required. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
Comprehensive to expert proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system. Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and independent decision making abilities with the skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization in line with mission, vision, and philosophy of THSC.
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple duties and functions related to daily operations and maintain excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform frequent detailed tasks and provide immediate service with frequent interruptions. Ability to change and be flexible with work priorities. Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to research, analyze and assimilate information from various on-site or virtual sources based on technical and experience based knowledge. Must exhibit critical thinking skills and possess the ability to prioritize workload.
Position requires 25% travel within the Community’s geographic region and to home office in Livonia, MI.
Proven ability to develop and implement budgets as well as meeting or exceeding budget targets.
Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing full resident community programs.
