The Deputy Director of Long Term Care is an administrative position fulfilling the duties of the Director of Long Term Care in his absence and performing other essential support functions to the Director. The work involves handling assigned operational requirements of the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and managing and carrying out special projects. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel. This work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Long Term Care and within the guidelines and standards established by applicable State and Federal laws. The Deputy Director of Long Term Care does related work as required.
**Livingston County residents will be given first preference, however, residency is not required.
Fulfill the duties of the Director in his absence, including serving as administrator of record
Handle routine, day-to-day operations requirements of the facility such as reports of personnel change, requests to fill, purchase order authorizations, grievance/complaint responses and accident/incident review.
Assist the Director with projects regarding various facility issues and operations
As directed, conduct investigations in resident, personnel and regulatory matters, make factual findings, determine possible options/remedies and conduct an analysis to make appropriate recommendations to the Director
Develop and coordinate regulatory compliance activities of facility as assigned
Follow up on assignments made by the Director of one or more departmental service units to keep plans and projects on track and report to the Director regarding the same
Attend various resident/patient and family meetings, facility departmental and committee meetings and carry out activities related to work plans established by committee process with approval by the Director
Assist the Director in program development activities
Assist with budget analysis and preparation
Conduct facility inspection and/or audits as instructed by the Director
Prepare written reports as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Possess a Bachelor's degree from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university
Possess a New York State Nursing Home Administrator's license
