Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of The Kendal Corporation, the Vice President, Health Services provides leadership in the areas of strategy, innovation, and alignment of the provision of health services across the organization. The new Vice President will work in collaboration with local vice presidents of health services, health services administrators and directors of nursing at each of Kendal’s communities to ensure the provision and delivery of high quality and safe resident/patient care in a manner which is consistent with Kendal’s Values and Practices.
The Vice President will serve as a consultant and facilitator in working across Kendal’s diverse communities to design and implement state-of-the-art health and wellness programs for residents, as well as ensure the establishment of consistent practices and policies and standards of resident/patient care. She/he will serve as an expert strategic resource to Kendal affiliates in national trends and program innovation in aging services and likewise keep abreast of federal, state, and local legal requirements and anticipate future legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of managerial and leadership experience; Master’s degree preferred.
Possession of a clinical background and/or a Nursing Home Administrator’s license is strongly preferred, but not required.
Skilled operationally and a demonstrated track record in designing and leading performance excellence initiatives resulting in continuous and sustained improvement.
Highly strategic combined with a demonstrated track record in assessing a complex, competitive market and in developing related growth and development initiatives.
Exemplary communication and listening skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences using a variety of formats, including written communications and verbal presentations.
Ability and willingness to develop innovative programs and partnerships, to be creative, and to ensure that Kendal is an organization in the leading edge of providing programs and services to seniors.
Prior experience and track record in developing, implementing and effectively utilizing current software programs to enhance resident healthcare and outcomes (familiarity with MatrixCare would be a plus).
Exceptional interpersonal and diplomatic skills combined with the empathy and genuine interest to work with stakeholders throughout Kendal. Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% throughout the Kendal communities.
A leader who continuously and appropriately challenges the status quo, proactively explores the health care field and regulatory shifts, and fosters organizational agility.
A broad understanding of federal and state laws related to the operation of CCRC’s, skilled nursing and personal care communities.
