Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), a wholly controlled nonprofit subsidiary of Volunteers of America is seeking a Senior Vice President of Healthcare Operations and Campus Support. VOANS is organized and operated to “advance, support, promote and administer health, housing and supportive services” in pursuit of the objectives of VOA. VOANS employs more than 3,000 professionals across the country to operate its housing and health care programs. It operates six comprehensive campuses (skilled nursing and independent/assisted living), five skilled nursing facilities, four assisted living facilities, three licensed home health agencies, three Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) sites and one senior meals program. VOANS also owns a continuing care residential community in Florida. The organization is dedicated to providing supportive, nurturing environments with services designed specifically for each individual.
As a key member of the Healthcare Leadership Team, the VOANS SVP provides leadership and management oversight of assigned campus programs and healthcare operations. This position works collaboratively with the Healthcare Leadership Team and Senior Management to ensure the integration of healthcare operations into the overall strategic objectives of VOANS. A key objective for the SVP will be to serve in a coordinating role with Regional Directors to ensure that consulting resources and best clinical practices are shared uniformly throughout the organization. This position communicates with the Executive Vice President for Healthcare Operations and Development, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Management, the Healthcare Leadership Team, Healthcare Consulting Team and Board of Directors to keep all apprised of significant program developments or issues.
The SVP must be a person whose personal and professional life exemplifies the importance and dignity of service. By example and by leadership and direction, the SVP will be a person of high integrity who is confident, relaxed and positive in her/his approach to issues and people and capable of instilling a service ethic in managers and staff at all levels. The finalist will have an enthusiasm for results-oriented performance, team building at all levels and a desire for creating a management environment centered on continuous improvement in all areas of operation. The SVP must be sympathetic with the mission and purpose of Volunteers of America and enthusiastically support the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
The finalist candidate will be a team player with strong interpersonal communication skills and an aptitude for establishing and sustaining positive relationships, creating consensus, and motivating people. (S)he will have a high level of related health care knowledge and exhibit a strong knowledge base regarding today’s rapidly changing industry trends. A bachelor’s degree in related field is required (Master’s desired), 15+ years of experience as a successful healthcare leader/executive and an active nursing home administrator license is also required.
