Under general supervision of the COO the VP of Assisted Living is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, directing and maintaining the overall health and wellbeing of all the Assisted Living department residents as well as supervision of all supportive services and direct care staff for Glencroft Senior Living. The VP of Assisted Living is responsible for adhering to the department of health services (DHS) rules and regulations along with the financial oversight of the Assisted Living department. The VP of Assisted Living will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill and/or disabled persons. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.
To function effectively in this position, the incumbent must possess or can obtain (within the initial 90-days of employment) an assisted living manager’s license and/or bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field, or an equivalent combination of five (5) years of related experience directly in an assisted living operation is required. Experience directly managing an assisted living facility, preferably a senior living community setting is required. The incumbent must possess excellent human relations and communication skills to provide effective working relationships, specifically to older adults. Must have the ability to simultaneously address multiple projects, demands and issues and make correct decisions in a busy operation environment.
Regular attendance is considered and essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
Interviews prospective residents on and off campus along with the processing of resident applications by following Glencroft and state guidelines as applicable.
Familiar with all guidelines regarding waiting lists, resident billing, move-in and move-out procedures and the resident certification and verification process through state and Glencroft mandated requirements.
Supervises and directs all Assisted Living staff, and partners with Human Resources in completion of all administrative duties to include but not limited to; personnel action forms, annual evaluations, employee relation needs, incident reporting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training all staff members.
Prepares the annual department budget for approval by the President/CEO and COO, and monitors budget monthly to adhere to set budgeted expectations to include budgetary support for sales and advertising activities.
Develops and implements all program and quality assurance, plan oversight, policies and procedures for the purpose of establishing guidelines needed to effectively meet departmental goals while adhering to all relevant corporate, city and state guidelines and policies together with the Department of Health Services licensing requirements.
Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of gathering information and/or resources to enhance the assisted living offerings and processes.
Serves as a Glencroft liaison with internal and external individuals and agencies for the purpose of adhering to survey and audits, within state and company mandated requirements.
Prepares reports, memos, letters, procedures, instructions, marketing materials, assessments, presentations, etc. for the purpose of documenting and/or conveying information and training.
Enquire knowledge & oversight for the entire assisted living campus operation.
Manages, creates and implements assisted living department resident assessments for the purpose of ensuring that the program requirements meets the overall objectives established.
Works collaboratively with other departments or agencies for the good of the residents.
Participates and/or chairs any appropriately assigned or created committee groups.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
