The Rehabilitation Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center provides Outpatient Adult Physical and Occupational Therapy services. We are looking for a unique individual to join our dynamic team of Rehabilitation Assistants. We invite you to apply if you are interested in working in a collaborative environment to assist with patient care in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities will include various operational, housekeeping, clerical, and maintenance tasks that are critical to the smooth operation of the Rehabilitation Service including, but not limited to:
Patient Care â escort and assist patients before, during, and after Physical/ Occupational Therapy treatment sessions
Technical Skills â Operate rehabilitation equipment, obtain vital signs, and transfer and guard patients under therapy supervision
Environment/Safety and Infection Control - maintains a clean, safe, organized work area and contributes to the upkeep of the service work area
Administrative Support â Manages durable medical equipment, maintains adequate supplies and provides support in service projects
A minimum of a High School Diploma.
One year minimum experience in direct care responsibility in an acute hospital setting, rehabilitation facility, or nursing home preferred.
Basic medical terminology.
Good organizational skills.
PT or OT school enrollment preferred.
BCLS certification required.
