VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS - Senior Housing Industry

Compass Senior Living, based in Eugene Oregon was born out of the personal experiences of people with many years in the senior housing industry. We are seeking an inspiring and innovative Vice President of Operations to plan and lead operations in our senior living communities, serving over 1000 residents located throughout the United States.
Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Operations is a senior management position. This person promotes, articulates and models the philosophy, mission, and vision of Compass Senior Living.
This position ensures that all services and supports are designed, implemented and operationalized using person-centered, transparent outcomes-based solutions. This person establishes short and long-range goals directing operational and administrative functions; and is responsible for attaining the profit targets and year-end goals. As a change agent, this position provides direct and personal involvement with participants, families, staff members, and other stakeholders.
The duties and responsibilities of the VP of Operations focus on providing hands-on support, guidance and direction with regards to operations, profitability, and cost control, while maintaining service quality. Duties include:
•Develop strategic plans for start-up and existing Senior Housing projects.
•Monitors and strategizes to obtain annual targets and new markets.
•Monitors operations and performance of CSL communities while providing direction to Regional Directors regarding areas of improvement.
•Creates and implements initiatives to improve underperforming facilities,
•Performs financial analysis and updates the President and Vice President regarding financial performance.
•Conducts on-site reviews of Community operations to identify improvements in quality, occupancy levels, and staffing.
•Ensures compliance with corporate policies/procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulatory directives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
•A College degree or equivalent experience
•A minimum of 5 – 10 years in the Senior Housing industry in Executive level positions.
•Demonstrates an empowering leadership approach – inspiring each person to be a better version of themselves.
•Strong working knowledge of Senior Housing operations and core business functions.
•Ability to be action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative in the approach to business planning, along with proven success in leadership and advocacy roles.
•Strong financial acumen.
•Strong analytical skills; ability to review complex programs, processes, and policies, and formulate recommendations or strategies for improvement that meet overall organizational goals.
•Knowledge of the budgeting process and ability to read and interpret budget and financial reports; ability to determine if revenues and expenditures are meeting targets.
•Demonstrated success at delivering high quality positive and sustained results.
•Ability to manage over a large and geographically diverse market area.
•Experience delivering training to regional directors.
•Superb interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal savvy.
•Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
•Organizational agility with strong negotiation skill
