The Director of Nursing will ensure the highest degree of quality of care is delivered at all times. This person is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the nursing department in accordance with current federal, state and Timbercrest standards and guidelines and regulations that govern the organization and as directed by the Chief Operating Officer/Administrator. This position is primarily focused on Health Care and Crestwood, but does provide oversight and support to the nursing staff working in other areas of the organization.
Oversight of the interdisciplinary care planning process to include initial planning (on admission to the unit); interim planning (to include clinical status changes); and the required Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI)
Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of nursing care
Develop and implement an organized nursing system for the delivery of care and services.
Develop the nursing budget for the nursing department to include but not limited to:
Direct nursing preparation for review and response to federal, state and local surveys and inspections.
Promote a positive work environment through professional conduct, collaborative teamwork, and a helpful, positive attitude to all (staff, co-workers, supervisors, consultants, residents, visitors, families).
Skills and Knowledge
Possesses interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrates leadership skills in principles of team building, motivating others, conflict management/resolution and negotiation;
Strong understanding of long term and post-acute care
Skill in resident assessment, critical thinking and nursing interventions;
Ability to think critically, quickly assess and develop next steps
Education and Experience
Successful completion of accredited Registered Nursing program; currently licensed by the State of Indiana
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred
Minimum of five years in the nursing field with a successful work history in skilled nursing facility
One year post-acute care management preferred
