The Manager for Resident Services is an individual who provides leadership and operational oversight for assigned departments: The position is a unique role in that the scope of responsibility and coverage is dependent on the community size and resident interests. The focus of this position is on resident engagement in the community and enjoyment of daily life. Inclusive is the new resident experience, psychosocial support where requested, as well as offering/coordinating potential services to in the independent living setting. The position will focus on exceptional customer service and hospitality, resident/community public relations, and staff development.
The Manager will develop and maintain strength based relationships with other department managers and staff in order to promote proficient communication and teamwork. They will also facilitate and/or provide oversight to staff with support groups. They will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in coordinating services for our residents and facilitating transitions between levels of care when appropriate. They will also be responsible for recruiting, supervising, and evaluating the Social Work staff and Resident Services Coordinators in accordance with professional standards and corporate guidelines.
The Manager may also conduct pre-residency assessments of potential residents and makes recommendations for appropriate level of residency in conjunction with the Admissions Committee.
The Manager should possess strong leadership skills and clinical abilities. Must be able to manage multiple projects and be a positive communicator and active listener. They should also have the ability to initiate programs within the department and to be a pro-active problem solver for staff, residents, and their family members or representatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required such as Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Aging Services, or Healthcare.
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years management experience with progressively more responsible positions.
