The Nursing Supervisor: Person-Centered Care Supervisor (PCCS) in collaboration with the DON is responsible for overseeing all aspects of person centered care and coordinates with the DON and ADON 24-hour nursing management of the campus. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the concepts of choice, privacy, dignity, individuality and home like environment. The person must be highly visible and supervises the charge nurses along with the DON and ADON. The PCCS assists the ADON with education, training and educational guidance and support to the nursing department and all areas of Villa de Matel Center (VDMC). The PCCS functions as a team leader working well with the Director of Nursing, Human Resources and the facility Administrator to carry out the facility initiatives in accordance with CHRISTUS Health and nursing policies to promote the highest standards of quality and best practices in education and training.
The Person-Centered Care Supervisor is expected to behave in a manner consistent with the Core Values and must collaborate with other Associates and departments to ensure the overall mission is achieved.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN required.
Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Demonstrated track record or successful supervisory / management skills
Communication skills -- both verbal and written.
Ability to understand medical records, physician orders and nursing care plans.
Ability to communicate effectively with Sisters, Congregational Leadership, staff and other health care professionals.
Knowledge of drugs and treatment modalities commonly used in geriatric practice.
Understanding of Catholic Health Care Directives.
Minimum of two years previous gerontology experience required.
3- 5 years' experience in a Long-Term Care facility and/or Rehab facility.
Previous strong supervisory experience preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
Current RN license issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas to practice nursing.
Current certification in geriatric nursing preferred.
