The Physician is located at the Athens Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Primary and Preventative Care Line which is affiliated with the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, OH. The duties include providing direct patient care to Veteran patients in a multidisciplinary environment. We provide primary and specialty care to Veterans in South Central Ohio through inpatient units, outpatient clinics and long term care units.
The preferred candidate will be a primary care provider on a team of interdisciplinary health care professionals providing care to a panel of patients.
Primary care is the provision of integrated, accessible health care services by clinicians who are responsible for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs, developing a sustained partnership with patients.
The incumbent will need to work in a team environment.
The provider will use a variety of communication tools to increase patient access to health care such as telephone appointments, secure messaging, group appointments, and face-to-face appointments.
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday,8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience: Primary Care experience is preferred.
