The Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) is a trade association representing assisted living, personal care, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in Pennsylvania. PHCA is committed to promoting members’ common interests in creating and sustaining a robust quality care delivery system for Pennsylvania’s aging and disabled individuals. PHCA is looking for a relationship focused professional to support the objectives of this influential organization.
The person in this position will direct the association’s activities in support of PHCA’s assisted living and personal care members The individual will serve as a resource on issues pertaining to policy, operations, quality care, regulations and management, and will be responsible for enhancing the value PHCA provides to the growing assisted living and personal care marketplace. Additionally, this individual will play a key role in growing PHCA’s assisted living and personal care membership furthering PHCA’s position as the leading advocacy association for these sectors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Direct and lead PHCA assisted living and personal care efforts: •Serve as the primary point of contact and a resource to AL/PC members on issues regarding policy, operations, quality care, regulations and management. •Advocate to and communicate with local, state and federal officials on behalf of members and member issues. •Frame the objectives and content for AL/PC educational initiatives such as: Summit, Convention, BHSL Forums, Quality Symposium, webinars and website. •Lead the development of communications (articles, fact sheets, blogs, letters) to advocate on members’ behalf or disseminate information to members. •Maintain and enhance the relationship with National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) and its state affiliates as the AL/PC contact at PHCA. •Enhance and communicate NCAL initiatives and resources to members. •Serve as the staff liaison to support the PHCA AL/PC Board. •Recruit AL/PC members and business partners. •Create products and services to support AL/PC members.

Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have some combination of the following qualifications: •Knowledge and experience in directing or managing a licensed personal care home or assisted living residence will be strongly considered •Skill and experience in sales and marketing •Understanding of membership recruitment and retention methods •Excellent written and oral communications skills •Knowledge and understanding of public policy, long-term care policy and regulations
